To convert a contact list into Orange contact using a simple method with a *.csv file
CSV contacts are delimited with "," " can be ignored in Orange.
Clean the original source contact list
Delete all accents & embedded chars such as é è à ô ' " , ;
Format the source contact list using Excel with the following user-friendly header:
Prenom,Nom,Email,TelMobile,TelBureau,TelDomicile,Notes
the above header will be mapped later on to the Orange contact header:
prénom,nom,email perso,mobile perso,fixe pro,fixe perso,commentaires
Once the formatting in Excel is done check again for unwanted chars such as é è à ô ' " , ;
then
Export contacts.xls to contacts.csv
Replace all ; with ,
Replace excel header:
Prenom,Nom,Email,TelMobile,TelBureau,TelDomicile,Notes
with Orange header:
prénom,nom,email perso,mobile perso,fixe pro,fixe perso,commentaires
finally
Import contacts.csv into Orange contact
Check the Orange contacts
In a smartphone the Orange account does not synchronise the contacts
to use the sync contact feature, the Mail Orange app must be installed and updated.

Warning When exporting Orange contacts into a .csv file, Orange creates a field which
combines prénom+nom, however it inserts a ,
exemple: John Wayne will become "Wayne, John" - Quotes "" must then be used in the .csv file
NOT a brillant idea from Orange!
